Summer Fun

Kelsie and Jordan both had a lot of fun on the GyroGym at the Gulf Coast Hot Air Balloon Festival. Besides the balloons, there were lots of kids activities, arts and crafts and lots of food! We had a lot of fun watching the balloons in the air and seeing them land so close to us! Here are some pictures of Jordan's room after we painted and added a CARS wallpaper border. He loves it, and we think it turned out really nice! Grandma Blocher made the curtains on the windows!
Dan spent a week in Florida at the Sun N Fun Event. He spent most of his time in the white tent representing Continental, visiting with customers and sharing information about the company with people who came by the tent.
He did get to see some of the airshows though, and took some great photos!
Here are some pictures of the kids decorating eggs for Easter!
These are pictures from our Home School Field Day. Kelsie was in the older group that played a lot of relays. She did the sack race, a soccer kick relay and a water balloon relay just to name a few! They had to carry a water balloon around the course between two sticks without popping the balloon!!
Jordan had a lot of fun at field day too! His group did the sack race and the soccer obstacle course among lots of other games. At the end, they got to get really wet, by soaking sponges in water buckets and then throwing them or squeezing them on other people! It was a really fun day! This past weekend, we went up to Macon, Mississippi to visit Uncle Dale, Aunt Jannie and Heidi. Uncle Dave and Aunt Sue came too! Jordan got to go to an EAA event with his Uncle Dale and Daddy. He rode with Uncle Dale in his airplane and got to see a lot of cool airplanes at the event! The grill gave the Weaver brothers some trouble, but they managed to pull off a yummy steak dinner for us anyway!!
One of our favorite things to do with the Weavers is SING!! We had a great time singing and laughing together in the evening!!
The Eastern Shore Shopping Center near our house has a great courtyard with a big fountain area. They allow kids to come and play in it, and we have already spent a couple of warm afternoons there! The weather was overcast on this day, but VERY humid so the cold water felt good!
Hello friends and family! We have wanted to update you all on our lives for quite awhile, and have finally gotten around to setting up this sight. It doesn't seem like 9 months have passed since we left Ecuador and returned to the States! We are settling into life here in Daphne, Alabama. Daphne is on the east side of Mobile Bay. It's a beautiful area and we are enjoying spring like weather already. Dan started a new job on Jan. 3 in Mobile. Kelsie, Jordan and I stayed in Kansas for another month before joining him here. We moved into our new house in early February and have been working on it ever since!! We will try to keep this sight up to date with photos and news, so check back often to see what's going on with us! Our new house! We moved into our new home here in Daphne on February 12. One of our first projects was to clean up the yard. Dan and I weren't real fond of all of the shrubs and they were very overgrown. And, as you can see, the yard was covered with leaves! (years and years worth of leaves we were soon to find out!)
It took us several days to rake up all of the leaves. Jordan and Kelsie got into the fun...for about an hour!! It was a very overwhelming project, but hopefully it will be well worth it in the end!
We have a big beautiful magnolia tree in our front yard! Kelsie loves to climb in it and Jordan is not far behind her!
After many hours of work on Dan's part and a little bit of help from the kids and me, we finally got the yard cleaned up, bushes and shrubs dug up and the yard leveled off so we can plant grass! Sure hope it will grow!!
About a month after we moved in, we celebrated Jordan's 7th birthday! We didn't have any living room or dining room furniture yet, and were using the patio furniture inside!
Jordan wanted pizza for his birthday dinner, so we made our own pizzas. They were YUMMY!
Kelsie's birthday came a week later and she wanted an ice cream cake! We celebrated a couple of days early and Uncle Dave and Aunt Sue were able to come over and spend the day with us. We had a bar-b-que and ate more of Jordan's cupcakes along with Kelsie's icecream cake!
Our first indoor project was to paint Kelsie's room. She picked several shades of blue. Her Grandma and Papa sent her the letters that spell her name and she painted them. They turned out really cute!
We painted some stripes around the rest of her room to finish it off. Now we just have to add some curtains and some decorations. Jordan is anxious now to work on redecorating his room! He is going to have a CARS movie theme.
Here is the latest picture of our house. Today is April 14. We have grass growing!! Hooray! And, Dan worked on adding a brick flower bed border on both sides of the house. Now, we are trying to decide what to plant!! |
